Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Youth & Young Adult Services
We’re hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Youth & Young Adult Services to provide direct care, supervision, and support to youth and young adults as they build stability, life skills, and greater independence. In this role, you’ll help create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where participants can grow, develop confidence, and work toward their goals.
DSPs in this role work across multiple program sites, including residential settings and the Stepping Stones Resource Center (SSRC). Staff are cross-trained and rotate between service locations to meet program needs and ensure consistent support for the individuals we serve.
What You’ll Do:
Direct Support & Relationship Building
- Provide day-to-day supervision and support to youth and young adults
- Model positive behavior, healthy boundaries, and respectful peer interactions
- Build supportive relationships that promote stability, encouragement, and personal growth
Life Skills & Daily Living Support
- Support participants in developing independent living and life skills through hands-on guidance
- Assist with meal preparation and encourage cooking and kitchen safety skills
- Help individuals build confidence and skills that support long-term independence
Program Support & Safety
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment in residential and drop-in service settings
- Observe participant needs and concerns and communicate appropriate referrals to Case Managers for assessment and ongoing support
- Support daily program operations and participant engagement across service locations
Documentation & Team Collaboration
- Complete required documentation including daily census counts, program logs, donation and supply tracking, kitchen documentation, and cleaning records
- Participate in administrative, supervisory, and program planning meetings
- Attend required trainings and collaborate with team members to provide quality services
What You Bring:
- Compassion, patience, and a desire to support youth and young adults
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to maintain healthy boundaries and model positive behavior
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with documentation
- Flexibility to work across multiple service locations and program settings
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
